Duties/responsibilities:
- Transporting heavy loads such as building materials, pallets, equipment, and mostly trailers safely.
- Inspecting the telehandler before and after use to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
- Operating the telehandler following strict safety protocols to prevent accidents or damage.
- Performing routine maintenance tasks such as checking fluid levels and reporting mechanical issues.
- Working closely with site supervisors to understand material handling needs and adjust operations accordingly.
- Coordinating with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and minimize downtime.
- Adhering to project timelines and prioritizing tasks based on urgency and importance.
Tele-handler operators need a combination of technical skills and soft skills to excel in their role. These include:
- Extensive knowledge of telehandler functions, attachments, and capabilities.
- Ability to maneuver the machinery in tight spaces and challenging environments.
- Understanding of load weight limits and proper balancing techniques to avoid machine tipping.
- A strong understanding of workplace safety regulations and procedures.
- The ability to assess risks and take precautionary measures to ensure personal and team safety.
- Knowledge of emergency procedures and how to respond to equipment malfunctions.
- Effective communication skills to interact with supervisors, colleagues, and clients.
- Problem-solving skills to address unexpected challenges, such as difficult terrain or mechanical issues.
- Adaptability to adjust operations based on changing project needs.

Compensation:
The pay range listed is the base pay range that Satellite Shelters, inc/Satellite Industries, Inc. reasonably expects to pay someone for this position (compensation may vary outside of this range depending on several factors, including but not limited to, a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, location and end client requirements).
