Position Summary:
The facilities technician position is responsible for working with the facilities staff to maintain, clean, service, and repair as instructed the facility equipment, building, and grounds according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems, and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is highly active and required standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

The facilities technician position is responsible for working with the facilities staff to maintain, clean, service, and repair as instructed the facility equipment, building, and grounds according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems, and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on building, machines, and equipment used in production.
- Perform basic repairs and maintenance.
- Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
- Oversee contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and correct them.
- Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
- Perform mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Assist Warehouse Custodian with cleaning warehouse and grounds as directed.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Perform specialized duties such as audits, documentation maintenance, and continuous process improvement with limited supervision
- Train personnel and temporary workers on procedures and protocols as directed by management
- High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience
- Certifications or degrees obtained from accredited continuing education facilities, such as universities, colleges, technical colleges, or vocational schools
- 4+ years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills. Foundational knowledge of PLCs and HVAC highly desired
- 6+ years of demonstrated facility maintenance experience or the equivalent of training and experience

The pay range listed is the base pay range that Satellite Shelters, inc/Satellite Industries, Inc. reasonably expects to pay someone for this position (compensation may vary outside of this range depending on several factors, including but not limited to, a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, location and end client requirements).
