Position Summary:

The VP of Sales and Marketing is responsible for developing the sales and marketing vision that will propel the company towards increased market share and greater brand recognition. This role provides high level direction and leadership to the Marketing Department, Business Development Department, as well as strategic direction to the entire Sales Team. This position is also responsible for contributing meaningful insight into the sales and marketing functions to the Senior Team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership:
  • Provide strategic leadership to the sales team, setting goals, objectives, and strategies to achieve revenue targets.
  • Build, develop and manage the Sales Training Team and their initiatives.
  • Develop and enforce consistency of the entire Sales process.
  • Assist Branch Managers in the creation of annual sales budgets and forecasts.
  • Develop sales plans, identify market opportunities, and align sales strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Participate in monthly/quarterly operational meetings to ensure action plans, P&L, and organization objectives meet or exceed expectations.
  • Monitor and analyze sales against goals to ensure sales growth.
  • Review and update all sales Compensation plans and contests.
  • Assist in the selection of all Sales Representatives within the company.
  • Build, develop and manage the Sales Training Team and their initiatives.
  • Successfully chair the annual sales meeting, making sure the meeting is informational, relevant, fun and represents Policy A-1 and our Core Values
  • Provide strategic direction for the Business development team.
Marketing Leadership:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align marketing initiatives with business goals and ensure cohesive messaging across all channels.
  • Provide leadership to the marketing team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the company's markets, competitors, sales cycles, and customer behaviors.
  • Review Marketing initiative for effectiveness.
  • Oversee the development of all market strategies, plans programs and functions.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify opportunities and challenges.
  • Work alongside the Marketing Manager to execute a marketing and communications strategy that supports the business plan and growth strategy.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position managers the Sales Training Team, Marketing Manager, Business Development Team, and could manage select Branch Managers. This position provides coaching to the Sales Team.

Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, sales or related field preferred
  • A minimum of 10 years sales and marketing experience
  • Experience in rental, construction or the Modular Building Industry is a must
  • Strategic leader with the ability to build, manage, and motivate
  • Understanding of budgets and financial practices including expenditure monitoring, ROI calculations, P&L projections, forecasting, etc.
  • Advanced MS Office skills
  • Strong understanding of SEO, PPC, website management, and marketing analytics tools

Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Ability to assess sales, research and other information to develop and implement marketing and sales strategies that support the company’s goals.
  • Well versed in current sales and marketing trends to ensure the company’s sales and marketing strategies are in line or ahead of our competitors.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of employees, customers, industry professionals and business partners in a wide range of settings and facilitate effective interactions with staff, industry professionals and customers.
Physical and Mental Demands:
This position requires a significant amount of travel within the United States.
