Job Description:
- Manage, train, and direct your team to meet safety, quality, and production needs.
- Work with purchasing and tool crib on parts, supplies, and tools for your area of responsibility.
- Look ahead to avoid shortages.
- Keep team members in your group on task.
- Manage idle time. Keep your team focused and productive.
- If a task is complete, make sure the team member helps another out.
- Make sure your team is prompt and in station at the start of the workday, after each break, and at the end of shift.
- Training- You are responsible for training new team members in your department.
- Quality- You are responsible for the quality of work in your department. Monitor, train, and coach your team to produce high quality work, avoid short cuts, and to take pride in their good work.
- Safety- Responsible for Team Member safety, accident investigations and follow-up, and overall safety awareness and improvement.
- Lead by example
- First to arrive in your group, last to leave
- Exhibit leadership qualities – positive attitude, show respect, clean language.
- Clean work area
- Strong work ethic – do what it takes to get the job done.
- Work safe.
- Fill in for team members who are out sick or on vacation.
- Oversee sub-assemblies and part prep. Make sure your station is ready for the next day.
- Attending Group Leader meetings and communicating the content back to your group.
- Look for ways your station can work more efficiently, save money, and be productive.
- Communicate good ideas, and opportunities for improvement, participate in continuous improvement projects.
- Group leaders participate in reviews, PIP, and write ups.
