Key Responsibilities:
- Supplier Identification and Evaluation: Research, identify, and assess potential suppliers based on quality, price, reliability, and service.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure a reliable supply chain and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Negotiation: Negotiate pricing, terms, lead times, and conditions to secure the best possible agreements for the company.
- Quality Assurance: Coordinate with quality control teams or conduct on-site inspections to ensure products meet the required standards before shipment.
- Order Management: Place purchase orders, track production, and ensure timely delivery of goods.
- Market Research: Stay informed about market trends, new suppliers, and alternative materials or products that could provide cost or performance advantages.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain, such as supplier disruptions, political instability, or logistical issues.
- Cost Analysis: Analyze costs and work to optimize expenses while maintaining quality and service standards.
- Cross Department Coordination: Work with logistics, quality control, finance, and production departments to ensure a seamless procurement process.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on sourcing activities, supplier performance, cost savings, and potential risks.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Negotiation Skills: Strong ability to negotiate favorable terms and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex data, compare suppliers, and make sound decisions.
- Communication Skills: Clear and professional communication with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and team members.
- Attention to Detail: Precision in reviewing contracts, specifications, and product samples.
- Problem-Solving: Quick and creative responses to unexpected situations in the sourcing process.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Project Management: Ability to manage projects and coordinate with various stakeholders to achieve timely results.
- Market Awareness: Up-to-date knowledge of market trends, new suppliers, and cost drivers affecting the industry.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, International Trade, or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain roles (experience requirements may vary by employer).
- Experience with supplier audits, compliance, and international trade regulations is highly desirable.
- Language skills, especially proficiency in English and the language(s) of key sourcing regions (e.g., Mandarin, Spanish), are an asset.
Compensation:
The pay range listed is the base pay range that Satellite Shelters, inc/Satellite Industries, Inc. reasonably expects to pay someone for this position (compensation may vary outside of this range depending on several factors, including but not limited to, a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, location and end client requirements).
