Quality Control Technician

Who are we? Satellite Industries is the world's largest supplier of products to the portable sanitation industry, which includes portable restrooms, handwash units, consumables, deodorizers, vacuum trucks, unit haulers, restroom , shower, and specialty trailers.
Position Summary:
The Quality Control Technician position is responsible for ensuring the quality of manufactured goods from delivery to final product by continually assessing processes and recommending improvements. Additionally, this position assists in the analysis, documentation, and reporting of product information as well as assisting in maintaining cleanliness of product and analysis of necessary changes or repairs to products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct product testing specified by departments to ensure appropriate levels of quality is met and consistency between product is maintained.
- Assist and monitor outgoing LTL and FTL shipments: partner with warehouse as necessary.
- Identify and report product defects and potential issues and help to determine resolution of issues.
- Record and report issues to appropriate personal to ensure quality of product being distributed is accurate.
- Assist in process improvements and growth.
- Assist in any necessary repairs of product to ensure highest quality is met.
- Inspect finished product to specifications on blueprints located on an iPad and job order request forms.
- Inspect finished goods in chemical production to ensure product meets standards for shipment
- Conduct inspections and analysis on product performance and update MRB.
- Analyze, chart, and capture appropriate data and information for reporting and documentation purposes.
- Create reports and analysis for continued development and growth of department goals.
- Inspect incoming material as needed.
- Monitor, inspect and verify that work processes are being followed as specified.
- Train and teach team members the Satellite expectations for quality and customer expectations.
- Communicate and trouble shoot with team members regarding quality.
- Be willing to accept projects as needed.
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be able to pass a background screening and drug test
- 1+ year experience in a manufacturing/warehouse environment and previous experience in QC/QA a plus!
- Ability to record and track data
- Good communication skills
- Strong attention to detail

This position requires the use of typical office equipment such as computers, printers, copiers, and scanners. Occasional exposure to ship elements such as odor, noise, dust, heat, cold, or chemicals.

Compensation:
The pay range listed is the base pay range that Satellite Shelters, inc/Satellite Industries, Inc. reasonably expects to pay someone for this position (compensation may vary outside of this range depending on several factors, including but not limited to, a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, location and end client requirements).
